The registration confirmation document is a PDF file emailed to all participants. This document includes the runner’s name, race, BIB number, and a bar code. No, runners without the correct race BIB will be prevented from participating.
No, the bibs are personal and non-transferable. Runners that race with the BIB from another person, if not prevented from running, will lose the insurance attributed to the original runner and will have his classification and diploma in the name of the original runner (it’s not possible to change it after the race).
The BIBs and participation kits are delivered at the Sport Expo at the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, at Junqueira, Lisbon.
The Sport Expo will be open Thursday (23.10), and Friday (24.10), from 10h00 am to 08h00 pm.

No, the participation kit and the race t-shirts are an exclusive offer to runners and are not sold separately from the race registration.
Runners don’t need to present any medical certificate to participate in the race. When registering for the race, runners assume the responsibility for their health, and the preparation to participate.
The start of the 2025 edition of the EDP Lisbon Marathon has a new location. The new start is in Carcavelos, on Estrada N6-7, in front of the Nova School of Business and Economics (about 20 km from the center of Lisbon).
To ensure the best start for all participants, there will be five separate starting waves at six-minute intervals. The first start gun will be fired at 8:00 a.m., followed by additional starts at 8:06 am, 8:12 am, 8:18 am, and 8:24 am.
Start times have been assigned to each runner according to the predicted finish time they indicated during registration.
To make sure all participants arrive at the start on time, the organization asks all those traveling by train to take the train indicated on their BIB.

Participants coming from Lisbon, the organization recommends taking the CP train departing from Cais do Sodré towards Carcavelos. Carcavelos train station is located about 1 km from the start.
The train from Cais do Sodré takes around 30 minutes to reach Carcavelos station. On race day, there will be several departures from Cais do Sodré at: 05:30 am, 06:00 am, 06:10 am, 06:20 am, 06:30 am, 06:40 am, 06:50 am, 07:00 am, and 07:20 am (see the timetable here).
After 07:20 am, it will not be possible to reach the start in time for the marathon.
Due to the large number of participants, the organization asks runners to take the train indicated on their BIB.
Participants choosing other means of transport (car, Uber, etc.) should plan their trip to ensure they arrive in Carcavelos with enough time to get to the start. Please note that some streets near the start will be closed due to the event.
Train travel is free for participants – they simply need to show their BIB.
Participants in Cascais can take the CP trains on the Cascais line towards Carcavelos. Trains depart from Cascais station at 05:30 am, 06:00 am, 06:30 am, 07:04 am, and 07:24 am.
Carcavelos train station is located about 1 km from the start.
At the end of the race, participants may return to Cascais free of charge by train until 5:00 p.m., upon presentation of their race bib.
At the starting area, the runners will find Water, WCs, the bag drop truck, the starting waves boxes, and the starting line.
There will be six different pacers that runners can follow: 3h00, 3h15, 3h30, 3h45, 4h00, 4h15, 4h30, 4h45 e 5h00.

Runners that wish to change their starting box must go the Solutions desk at the Sport Expo and make their request.
Runners who forgot to pick up the safety pins to attach the BIB to the t-shirt can ask a staff member for pins. There’s no guarantee that the staff has enough safety pins for all requests.
The EDP Lisbon Marathon course is 100% by the sea or river, offering unique views along the 42 km course.
To assure that the runners have all the necessary support, the course includes 12 Aid Stations (offering water, gel, fruit, and isotonic drinks), 6 Music Stages (live bands or DJs), 14 WCs (most of them next to the Aid Stations), 3 Medical Stations (plus a field hospital at the finish line) and 3 Cool Station (at km 21, 32 and 37,5).
There’s also medical assistance along the course with over 200 medics, paramedics, nurses, and medical support ready to respond to any medical event during the race.
During the race, listen to your body. If you feel any discomfort, slow down, cool off, and, if necessary, ask for assistance from the medical teams available along the course. Your health always comes first!

It’s not mandatory to use the official t-shirt at the race, but most runners like to use it. The official t-shirts are high-quality technical running t-shirts ready for the demands of a marathon race.
The finish line is at the Praça do Comércio at the Lisbon historical center in front of the Tejo river!
Access to the finish area is reserved for participants. Companions will have specific zones (EMEL Meeting Points), clearly marked, where they can meet the runners.
At the finish line, all finishers will receive an exclusive medal and recover supplies such as water, Powerade, fruit, Olá ice cream, and Mimosa Proteína milk.

Runners, that have subscribed to the engraving medal service, just need to present their BIBs at the tent. Runners, that haven’t subscribed to the engraving service, can buy the service at the tent.
Runners have free transportation until 05h00 pm on the race day. Runners can use the trains, buses, and subway trains at no charge by presenting their BIBs.
At Praça do Comércio, runners must search for the closest train, bus, and subway station and find the best solution for their trip.
