The start of the Vodafone 10K is at the toll booth on the 25 Abril bridge on the south bank.
The starting gun is set for 10:05 am, but the Fertagus trains for the start stop at 09:10 am, so the Vodafone 10K runners must be at the start area before that timing. To ensure a good start, the organization urges all participants to arrive early at the starting area and suggests, based on the race BIB, which Fertagus trains to take.
Access to the departure point on the 25 de Abril bridge is exclusively via Fertagus Pragal station. To get to the departure point, participants must use Fertagus trains and get off at Pragal station. The Fertagus trains are the only way to get to the start, coming from the south bank or the north bank. Arriving at Pragal station, participants must follow the instructions on site and go to their departure box.
The journey between Pragal station and the departure takes between 10 and 15 minutes. Participants should consider that thousands of athletes will be traveling to the start and that there may be security checks along the way.
Fertagus has 14 stations, including Pragal station. On the Lisbon side, there are four stations: Roma-Areeiro, Entrecampos, Sete-Rios, and Campolide. On the south bank, Fertagus has 9 (nine) stations: Corroios, Foros de Amora, Fogueteiro, Coina, Penalva, Pinhal Novo, Venda do Alcaide, Palmela and Setúbal.
Check the Fertagus train timetable on the race day, here.
Fertagus trains are free for participants upon presentation of their race number.
Participants may also opt for the available shuttle that leaves Belém (in front of Pasteis de Belém) towards a Fertagus station (depending on the available station) between 07:00 am and 08:00 am.
Located at the beginning of the 25 de abril bridge, the starting area welcomes runners to the race with special offers and services. At the starting area, runners will find WCs, the and the race pacers.
The gear check service is exclusive for the half marathon runners. There’s no gear check service for the Vodafone 10K runners.
There will also be 4 (four) different pacers that participants can follow according to the following rhythms: 4:00 min/km, 5:00 min/km, 6:00 min/km, and walking rhythm.
See the plan of the departure area here.
The starting area is reserved for participants duly identified with their race number. Only runners will be able to access the start area.
Runners may ask the start staff for safety pins. But it is not guaranteed that there will be enough safety pins for all.
The Vodafone 10K has a very special course. It starts right at the beginning of the 25 de abril bridge and runs into the Lisbon riverside finishing at the historic Mosteiro dos Jerónimos.
Along the course, runners will find 2 (two) aid stations (offering Vitalis water), 3 (three) WC areas (most of them next to the aid stations), and 1 (one) medical station at the finish line.
At the finish line, all finalists are entitled to an exclusive finisher medal, Vitalis water, Powerade, Madeira’s banana, Olá ice cream, and Mimosa Protein milk.
You can download the course map here, watch the video, or check Google Maps.
The time limit to complete the race is 02h20 (two hours and twenty minutes). The finalists must reach the finish line by 12:30.
It is not mandatory, although most participants wear the official adidas race t-shirt. The adidas T-shirt is a high-quality technical shirt ideal for running a half marathon.
Yes, runners can take their own supplies (water, gel, isotonic drinks, fruit) although there is Aid Stations along the course with everything runners may need.
The finish line of the Vodafone 10K is at the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon, right in front of the Tagus River!
The finishers will receive an exclusive medal and supplies to recover from the effort: one Vitalis water, one Madeira banana, one Olá ice cream, and Mimosa Protein milk.
After crossing the finish line, participants, along with supplies, have different animations and services to enjoy, such as:
See the plan of the finish area here.
Participants who have subscribed to the engraving service at registration or the Sport Expo only need to present their race number and ask for their engraving at the tent in the arrival area.
Participants who have not subscribed to the service can do so directly at the tent, paying for the service on the spot.
In addition to Fertagus trains to the departure point, all participants can use Lisbon’s public transport (Carris buses, CP trains, and the Lisbon Metro) free of charge until 4:00 pm, by presenting their number.
The event is broadcast live on RTP 1. Participants and supporters can follow the participants individually through this link.
